Abstract:

The speaker will address the science and technology of gas cluster ion beams (GCIBs). This will include production of the clusters by means of ultrasonic expansion of high-pressure gases, diagnosis of the beams and interaction of the GCIB with matter, which is essential for the application of the cluster ion beams in materials processing such as ion implantation and surface smoothing down to sub-nano scale.

本讲座介绍气体团簇离子束的科学技术问题，介绍高压气体超声膨胀产生团簇粒子、团簇离子束的传输与控制以及团簇离子束纳米制造技术，包括超浅离子注入和亚纳米表面平坦化。
