报告摘要:

We reveal that topological Josephson junctions provide a natural platform for the interplay between the Josephson effect and the Landau-Zene effect through a two-level system formed by coupled Majorana modes. We build a quantum resistively shunted junction model by modifying the standard textbook resistively shunted junction model to take account the two-level system from the Majorana zero modes at the junction. We show that the dynamics of the two-level system is governed by a non-linear Schrodinger equation and solve the equations analytically via a mapping to a classical dynamical problem. We find that the Junction is hysteretic solely due to the non-linear dynamics of the two-level system formed by Majorana zero modes, which gives a quantitative explanation to recent experiments. We also predict coexistence of two interference patterns with periods h/e and h/2e in topological superconducting quantum interference devices.

报告人介绍:

王志,男,2010年获得北京师范大学博士学位,2010年至2012年在日本物质材料研究机构作博士后,2012年至今任中山大学物理学院副教授。研究领域包括高温超导电性理论、介观超导体系、拓扑超导体系等,目前的主要研究兴趣在拓扑超导隧道结中的动力学理论。
