摘要:

Despite the null results on BSM resonance searches at LHC, the arguments in favor of new physics above TeV scale are strong. In this situation, the SMEFT formalism, supplementing the SM with higher dimensional operators, can be used to catch the effect of new physics with the least theoretical bias.

Without need knowing the details of the UV physics sector, we have examined the minimal character of the SMEFT that results from integrating out new physics sectors. We show inducing only one dimension-6 operator in the SMEFT at tree level matching is possible when integrating out a massive field, which however cannot construct a UV complete scenario. Thus, the approach of using “one operator at a time” in data analyses should be avoided. Retaining multiple operators in global data analysis is preferred to obtain a consistent IR limit of an underlying UV physics sector, when a dynamical origin of the UV scales introduced is demanded. The results of global data analysis will be presented.
