报告摘要:
The standard model of particle physics is extremely successful in its predictions of the physics seen at the Large Hadron Collider. Despite its success, we know that the standard model falls short in its explanation of several phenomena, including the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe; these facts indicate that there must be physics beyond the standard model. In this talk, I present an brief overview of the standard model of particle physics, the problems facing it. I then discuss an overview of the broad physics goals of the LHCb experiment at CERN, and present a few selected results.

Adam Davis,清华大学工程物理系博士后,2016年美国辛辛那提大学物理系获得博士学位。研究领域为实验高能物理,目前从事基于大型强子对撞机的LHC
b实验上的物理分析工作。
