报告摘要:

Observation of quantum interference is a hallmark of the superposition between quantum states - the foundation of quantum information applications. While two-dimensional moiré semiconductor has emerged as a promising quantum technology platform, quantum interference in moiré superlattices has not been observed. Here, we report the excitonic signature of the interlayer quantum interference in a symmetrical moiré WSe2/MoS2/WSe2 heterotrilayer. Using the dual gate configuration, we control the alignment between the moiré bands in different layers and observe an equally spaced interference pattern in the field-dependent interlayer exciton intensity and lifetime maps - evidence of quantum interference between moiré-localized states. Our results demonstrate the coherent coupling in moiré superlattice and establish interlayer exciton as a promising sensor of quantum interference in layered materials.




报告人简介:

Weibo Gao is currently a Professor and President’s Chair Professor in Physics at Nanyang Technological University. Dr Gao graduated from University of Science and Technology of China as a PhD in 2010. Then he worked in ETH Zurich as a Marie Curie fellowship. In 2014, Dr. Gao joined NTU as a Nanyang Assistant Professor with an NRF Fellowship support. His research interest lies in the areas of quantum condensed matter physics, quantum optics and quantum information. He has been awarded Singapore President Young Scientist’s Award in 2017, NTU Provost’s Chair professorship in physics in 2019 and NTU President’s Chair professorship in physics in 2024.
